TTO 3

The start of a new schoolyear, with a lot of new assignments.

I hope you're as excited as I am, because I just have the feeling that this is going to be a great year!

Fantasy project:

With this project we had to start by writing down all the fantasy animals that we know.
As if I didn't know it already at that moment I realized that this really isn't my thing.
We started by drawing a few sketches, which in my case weren't very pretty.
Luckily my teacher told me I could make my own costume for a fantasy animal.
I started to draw some different costumes and decided to make a fairy costume.
I started by making some patterns, than I searched for fabric.
After I had done this, I could start my costume.
An orange dress, a yellow shining through skirt, some studs.
But then the most difficult part, the wings.
First I made a design out of paper, than I made the wings and painted them green.
If I would have had one lesson more I would have painted the wings one more time.
I first put on the costume without the wings on the doll and made some pictures.
Then I attached the wings and made some more pictures.
I don't know yet what my mark is going to be.
No matter what my teacher thinks of my costume.
I am proud of what my costume looks like and the work I have done to finish it.
I hope my teacher agrees with me!

Sadly enough this is the last assignment I do for my art education classes.

I am poem:

In this assignment you're going to write a poem about yourslef or another person.
My poem is about Judith Leyster.
I wrote down my poem about Judith Leyster, than i drew a rose next to it.
This is my poem:

My grade for this assignment is a 7,5 and I'm quite happy with it.

Photoshop:

This assignment is actually part of the self-portraits.
For this assignment we had to take a photo and photoshop something in it.
In this way you had to say something about yourself.
This is what I did:

I don't like to do this at all!!
I am really bad at it and I hope it is good enough.
Therefore, I was really happy that I kind of finished this assignment.
If I had the choice I would never do such a think again, I really don't like it!

Collage:

This time we have to make a collage about ourselves.

With this assignment I thought: Yes, this is going to be fun!

I like making collages, you can let your imagination be free and look through magazines for school, how awesome is that?

At least I think it's awesome, taste differs!

So I took a large sheet of paper in a colour I liked, in this case it's purple.

Now the fun part can begin!

Start by looking through magazines and cut out the pictures you like.

If you think you have enough pictures sort them out a little bit.

Than lay the pictures on the paper.

When you like the way it is, glue the pictures on the paper.

Don't you like the way they are laying, try to lay some on top of each other and less neat.

Happy? Than also start gluing the pictures on the paper.

If you have finished gluing the pictures on the paper, you can ask a friend if this looks like you.

If you did a good job they say yes.

I got an 8 for this assignment, I am very happy with this grate, because I like making collages.

Trees:

With this assignment we had to sketch and than create trees in different seasons.

You could create your trees in different ways, by painting or drawing.

To start you get an A4 paper and sketch different types of trees in different seasons.

I also started with sketching trees and also leaves.

When I had made my sketches, I decided to draw my trees with chalk.

I first draw one tree containing the four different seasons.

Then I started drawing four trees on four different papers.

In the end I had some time left, so I took an A3 paper and drew four trees each in a different season.

However when I saw my first two drawings, I didn't like them, so I have drawn them again.

I have a 7,8 for this assignment, and I am really happy with that mark.

Book cover: 

In this assignment we had to design a new book cover.

I participate in classic ballet  classes and I really want to dance on stage wearing pointes.

That's why I  designed this book cover.

You were free to choose what you designed as a book cover.

This is my book cover:

I think I have done a good job.

I think that the ballerina on the backside is really nice!

I got a 7 for this assignment.





Self-portraits: 

This assignment is about drawing/painting self-portraits.

We first had to start with sketching a self-portrait using a mirror.

Skething a self-portrait:

You start by drawing a kind of egg shape, than you rotate your paper 180 degrees.

Now you can make some corrections according to the shape of your head.

If you have done this draw a horizontal and a vertical line in the middle of your head.

Draw your eyes just underneath the horizontal line.

Than draw your nose on the vertical line.

Than draw your mouth also on the vertical line.

Don't forget to draw the eyebrows just above the eyes and the horizontal line.

If you have done all this draw your neck and your hair.

When you have done all this erase the horizontal and vertical line.

Make some corrections if necessary.

Now you're finished.

I got a 7.5 for this.

I am very pleased with this sketch and I think I did a very good job!

Painting two self-portraits:

Now I have finished sketching a self-portrait, I'm going to paint two self-portraits.
These self-portraits need to be painted in the style of Van Gogh.
You first needed to start with one self-portrait taking an A3 sheet of paper.
I started painting the background.
I was kind of angry that day, so I decided to use dark colours, such as red and dark blue.
After I had painted the background, I started doing the clothes.
I think it was nice that I kept one colour which I used in the background for the clothes.
I kept using dark blue and added some black and white.
When the clothes were finished I did the hair and then the skin and the rest of the face.

However, I also need to do a second one.

I made both self-portraits on a different day.

The self-portraits had to show different emotions, so the first one was angry.

That they I was happy, so I wanted to do a happy self-portrait.

Just before I wanted to start one of my friends asked me a strange, but difficult question.

This made me feel confused.

Then I started painting my self-portrait, so I decided to make it look confusing, with a little flavour of happiness.

For the background I used a lot of colours, from green to yellow to red to blue to purple.

After I had finished the background I started painting the clothes.

Again I kept one colour from the background, which in this case was purple.

I also added some different colours green, mostly armygreen.

Than it was time for the face and the hair and the skin.

In my oppinion this self-portrait was better than the first one,but you can look for yourself.

I think I did a good job, especially with the last self-portrait.

I got a 7,5 for this assignment.

Describing a drawing: 

The first assignment of the school year.

I am excited!!

I had to look up a drawing from myself when I was aged around 4,5 or 6.

I coulnd't find a drawing, which I have drawn myself, so I took one from my brother when he was that age.

This is the drawing:

Well now you might be wondering...

... What is shown in the drawing?

I will tell you as far as I know it myself.

In this drawing my brother presented the autumn, with the leafs falling from the trees.

These two people in the picture, I think were walking through the forest, looking for nice leafs and other nice things.

I think my brother drew this, because it was an assignment from his teacher.

But also more important, because on wednesday afternoons my brother and I used to go to my grandparents.

If we were there and it became autumn, we always went to the forest looking for nice things, to make something from.

I think my brother is drawing that in this picture.

Well that was me describing what this drawing shows.

I am curious to know what we are going to do with this drawing!
